Just thought I'd post the latest from Jean-Pierre. His book "Production Theory" continues to inspire me. Though he may not call himself my mentor, he is. His book focuses on the "art" of filmmaking not the Hollywood version of movies or the money or red carpets. It is the most valuable tool we have now. More people are beginning to tell their stories because the equipment is accessible and there are various ways to get the films out to the public.
Dear Jean-Pierre,
I took your advice and let the grant thing go. With no hard feelings I might add.
The letter was never sent from Sandrine.
Since then some amazing things have happened. CMTV in Spokane wants our
series and will help us produce more. They have some excellent equipment
worth far more than the $1500. grant money from Idaho. The people want to
donate their time too! And, now there is a chance that the local cable here
in the Silver Valley will reopen and air our series as well.
I have a meeting with them this morning. Very exciting stuff.
I thank you for your attention to this. You certainly did not have to respond.
Your book continues to be an inspiration to us and sparks much discussion.
Hope you and your family are having a wonderful new year!
Best,
Nancy

hi nancy:
what wonderful news for a change! i don't have to tell you though that
there will be more obstacles on your way. nothing ever goes smoothly,
even for steven spielberg (his real difficulties raising money for "lincoln").
enjoy the moment!
