February 2012

What a job it is making the booklet of our year of blogging.  It is nearly finished now.  Today I will apply the UPC code to the back cover and disk label, then continue analyzing the 12 plus fables to be burned.  I need to make sure that they are presentable for television, rather than the Internet.  It's a whole different export process.  Amazon said they would send out the first purchase order in about a week, so it gives me time to put on the finishing touches.  I'll leave the UPC off the copies I make for the talent.  No need cluttering up the back image for them.

I'm looking forward to shooting again.  I've been sitting at this computer for 10-12 hours a day getting this Amazon thing going and it's starting to wear on me.

  1. Well, your hard work putting together the 12 fables from 2011 is just about finished and ready for amazon. You've done a fantastic job of editing and making sure everything is perfect for our viewers. You have a lot of dedication to our production company and making it the best you can. Keep up the good work for our 2012 season. Chance says HI!

  2. Hi...
The past year is almost ready for publishing and from what I've seen I can't wait to be able to get my own DVD of all the past work. Let me know where and when I can buy one. Also, I am so looking forward to our major project for 2012. I have so much to learn and so little time to do it in....oh well, if nothing else, I will get really good at the tutorials. Chance says HI but he's not my dog so I don't really care if he says hi or not since he was putting his evil little fangs into my pants leg....

  3. We got the link to Amazon this morning, so I've been spending the day making IMDB pages the actors who don't have them yet and updating the pages of the actors who do. The link is
    http://www.amazon.com/2011-Fables-dollHouse-Sue-Upperco/dp/B0079A6KL2/ref=sr_1_2?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1330099096&sr=1-2
Only the DVD is there at this time, and it will take IMDB weeks to update the production and actor pages, but there has been some progress. Let me know if there are any special requests or titles regarding this process. I think I can still get into the system to change things a bit if it is necessary.

  4. At the meeting today we broke down 10 more pages of the script. It has become pretty obvious that the club house will only work for a couple of the shoots. With all the green screen we have to do (nearly every scene) we need a warehouse, vacant building or hanger that we can set up in for many weeks of production. I know that this is possible in Wallace, ID. It is a small mining town that has fallen on hard times and has many vacant buildings with lots of room. The problem there is the actors. So... space there, actors here. To shoot the whole thing here would require more time than we have, if we want to make the Dec deadline for submitting Distant Location to the SCV Film Festival.

Sue and I watched the whole 2011 DVD. I was not happy with the sound... she didn't notice anything wrong. There were some flickers as well... dropped frames? I need to go back again and find out what is happening to the burn. All seems well on the time line and the exports to Quicktime. Where are the problems occurring?

When I printed out the Blog booklet today, there was no background to the text. It printed out perfectly the first time. Hmmm. Always something.

Now it is time to edit the Video Blog we shot last weekend. Questions there as well.

I really need to chill for awhile. I'm on think overload and nothing is happening. Maybe some wine and Netflix will give me a new perspective.
