January 2012

Thank you!
To everyone who participated in the dollHouse productions in 2011, we would like to say thanks in the biggest of ways.  If not for you none of this could have happened.  As you recall, our idea all along has been to collect 12 fables throughout the year and publish them with this blog on Amazon.  With that little package as an incentive to donate to our 2012 festival idea through one of the Internet funding sources like Kickstart or one of the many others, we believe we can raise enough cash to make a competitive production.

Recently we have met with Ramon Hamilton of the Santa Clarita Valley Film Festival.  We're hoping he will continue too guide and mentor us through this process of making an entry for the 2013 festival and hopefully many other festivals if our film is good enough to be accepted.

I'll be carrying over a few entries that were posted under the month of December that should have been here.  Please feel free to join in our conversations this year!

Well I've been quite lazy this past year plus it was not a very good year either. First, my 15 yr old dog Rembrandt" died, then I spent 11 days in the hospital with diverticulitis, then I had bladder cancer and then the week before Christmas, I had to put my 14 yr old cat to sleep. I'm glad 2011 is over. I did however, have a good time working on the fables and I think we had some good ones. I really liked The Dash and Grouchy Grandma. Nancy has a NEW camera that films in HD and I think we will turn out some good stories this year. We are also going to work on a script so that we can enter it into the Santa Clarita film festival next year. I know we can win.

Sue, even with all that, you were never lazy. The fables show that. You were always there. When most people would have folded and given up you took on whatever you could to make the shoot happen. You are awesome. You've dealt with so much this last year. We are here for you any time.

And I can speak for everybody when I say THANK YOU SUE! Your spirit has made this happen.

With my recent layoff from Disney, I'm just hoping it isn't a precursor to your 2011 year. I won't go there. With all that is happening with dollHouse and all we have done to make it happen, despite the setbacks last year, I feel this 2012 year will be most magical! Looking ahead. Bless you.

  2. Our first meeting of the year was yesterday. Sue and I and another member read through the feature script by Linda Simeone, Distant Location. Linda and Rachel were working this weekend and unable to attend. We enjoyed the script, even in the first stages of writing. It was 54 pages long. I have the second rewrite at 90 pages and Linda has added more.

Later we finished editing the thank you to the many people we worked with last year. Sue did an excellent job of playing the magical person who lives in a dollhouse and drives a pizza truck. The main thing was rolling the credits for each fable for the entire year. A lot of work. Makes me teary.

I'm working on editing a small piece for a friend. Having a bit of trouble getting the GoFlex external memory to work on my iMac. This is the second time it's given us all kinds of problems. I do not suggest buying this brand if you work on both PC and Mac.
